Chartership for Rosie Pearce of Stephenson Halliday
In recent weeks, Rosie Pearce, Senior Landscape Architect at Stephenson Halliday, has successfully completed her Pathway to Chartership (P2C) exam and become a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute. After joining the P2C programme in October 2020, Rosie has now achieved the institute’s pre-eminent professional standard.
The Landscape Institute is the leading professional body for the landscape industry and awards chartered status in recognition of breadth of skills, knowledge, understanding and commitment to the profession. To achieve her Chartership, Rosie undertook the P2C programme, which involved quarterly written submissions covering the syllabus and project experience. This process culminated in a face-to-face, interview-style exam in April 2022.
“There are a handful of Stephenson Halliday colleagues also on the Pathway to Chartership course, and our time studying together and quizzing each other was very useful. Additionally, I found support from colleagues in various teams within the group who were always willing to help field my questions, as the syllabus is very broad and so much of what we do as professionals is interlinked,” Rosie said.
Since joining Stephenson Halliday in 2015 as a graduate, Rosie has worked on a range of projects, including the landscape mitigation and management for the East West Rail 1 and 2 projects and, more recently, the Landscape Clerk of Works for Peak East Visual Impact Provision project and its associated biodiversity net gain projects.
Alongside these, she has also delivered landscape-design schemes for residential and tourism projects. Rosie’s achievement of chartered status is recognition of the skills and expertise developed through this diverse work.

Fellowship for Carmen Snowdon of WRc
Earlier this month, Carmen Snowdon, Commercial Services Director at WRc, was nominated as a Fellow of the Institute of Water. The Institute of Water is the main professional body for the UK water industry and supports the careers and professional growth of its members.
Carmen became actively involved with the institute five years ago and has held a variety of roles on the South West Area Committee. She has recently taken over as chair of the committee and is looking forward to continuing to grow and engage with other members.

Carmen’s work for the institute is carried out alongside her work at WRc, where she focuses on bringing together commercial and delivery oversight, enabling the company to deliver successful projects from idea to implementation.
Fellowships are awarded to members for their dedication to the institute. Carmen received her fellowship for her commitment to and enthusiasm for both her work at WRc and at the Institute of Water. Outgoing Chair Phill Mills presented Carmen with her fellowship in recognition of the instrumental role she has played in developing research into water use, influencing policy on water efficiency and promoting water-efficiency campaigns. Through her work at WRc in consultancy, commercial and project-management roles, Carmen has developed technical expertise in the field of water efficiency that is widely recognised as industry leading.

We have recently partnered with the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) in Malaysia.
The collaboration involves working on a range of sustainability projects with the Sarawak Government, drawing on the RSK Group network of environmental and engineering professionals.
Dodi Mohammad, of Tradisi Busana PR, has developed a course that draws inspiration from world-renowned designer Prof Datuk (Dr) Jimmy Choo OBE, with the curriculum personally approved by the shoe maestro.
CENTEXS will pilot a sustainability module within this course, supported by RSK`s global sustainability expertise.

RSK is proud to have recently launched its newest employee network.
