It is vital for any property owner to understand the condition of their asset. Building surveys are designed to provide a detailed evaluation and inspection to identify any potential risks and enable owners to develop remediation or maintenance plans.
Our building surveying teams are part of award-winning multidisciplinary practices that can provide a wide range of advice and services associated with all aspects of property and construction within existing buildings.
Built on strong foundations
Pellings, an RSK company, was founded in 1977 as a building surveying business. While additional service streams have been added recently, building surveying remains at the heart of what they do and represents about half of the work it does. Building surveying is a core part of subsidiary businesses ATP and CS2 as well. Headland Archaeology, provides historic building surveys as a part of a wider heritage-focused package.
We are focused on aligning with clients to develop a deep understanding of their goals and deliver desired outcomes safely and efficiently. Our clients usually have a range of objectives for their built assets, from ensuring they are safe and dry to making significant capital investments and improvements. Whatever the scale or objectives, all projects involve risk. Fire safety is just one example and managing risks is at the core of our service offering.
Our approach is to identify the ‘value drivers’ for projects. Upon reaching agreement with key stakeholders, we establish and prioritise our services to deliver identified value-driven objectives. We design, procure and project manage planned maintenance and improvement projects to a wide range of existing buildings including internal and external redecorations; window replacement; roofs and building services; and major remodelling and complex improvement works in housing, education, commercial and public infrastructure sectors.
We are also able to provide a wide range of specialist surveys and services such as fire reinstatement surveys, listed building surveys, expert witness, procurement advice, project and cost management, health and safety advice, and more.
A bespoke offering for all levels
We take the time to understand our clients’ requirements and deliver a service experience that builds long-term trust and builds strong professional relationships. Our services are available UK-wide, and we have a history of working with stakeholders from all levels, from chief executives to individual project managers and officers. We always strive to combine our breadth of expertise and understanding with commerciality and management skills to deliver a successful client experience.
We offer a complete range of building survey services on different types of buildings in all major sectors. These services include individual assent inspections, fast-track building surveys to meet client acquisition deadlines for investment purposes, and large-scale planned stock condition surveys across multiple asset portfolios, particularly within housing, education, commercial, healthcare, industrial and public buildings.
Pellings’ in-house expert witness specialists have extensive experience of acting on behalf of lawyers and local authorities, providing expert evidence reports on disrepair and other building matters. Pellings is listed in the Expert Witness Directory, widely recognised as the most reliable handbook of expert witnesses.
Pellings’ building surveyors can provide other high-value professional services ranging from acquisition surveys to party wall surveyor services, and advice on dilapidation liabilities on all types of buildings.
