Life at RSK

Over the last month, representatives from across the RSK Group have attended careers fairs in various educational institutions across the UK. The aim was to engage and encourage a new generation to enter the sustainability sector.

Last month Kate Brown, a finance team leader at RSK Group, took a gruelling six-day hike to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. The expedition was in support of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, UK. Kate decided to support the hospital after treatment her niece received in 2022.

In late February, Tasha Cresswell, Marketing Executive from RSK Biocensus and Nature Positive, presented sustainability workshops for Charlton Athletic Football Club’s Men’s First and Women’s First teams. The workshops coincided with the Charlton Greener Games campaign, which were held that same week.

In celebration of International Day of Mathematics, we sat down with Chief Financial Officer of RSK Group Abigail Draper to discuss her work and how her maths degree got her to where she is today.

Employees from the RSK Helsby office gathered on 31 January for a lunchtime litter pick around the local area. This is part of the RSK Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) initiative encouraging employees to take part in charitable work.

Ben Robinson, a project manager for the RSK Group, took part in a Winter Walk, completing a marathon in support of the When You Wish Upon A Star children’s charity.

Malcolm Croft is 86 years old and is still working hard at our Structural Soils lab in Hemel Hempstead, UK! We heard about Malcolm from Nigel Austin, Director at RSK Geosciences, and Sharon Cairns, Laboratory Manager at Structural Soils, and caught up with the man himself to learn about his life inside and outside of RSK.

Hannah Jackson, Marketing Executive at FR Consultants, is starting off the year on the right foot by getting ready to complete a charity walk next weekend. She will be supporting the amazing mental health charity Mind!

Supporting the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare, team members from RSK helped plant trees at Liverpool’s Aintree University Hospital. This event was part of the company’s CR&S initiative encouraging stuff to take part in social charitable work.

An exciting new scheme that encourages young people with a keen interest in water sports to develop their skills is now up and running, and RSK, a global leader in the delivery of sustainable solutions, is backing it.

RSK’s annual Pedometer Challenge came to an end on Tuesday 31 May after a month of stepping adventures. This year, more colleagues than ever took part in our steps challenge, getting out and active throughout May.

Throughout 2021, teams across RSK have supported charities and projects that will leave a lasting legacy. Last year, employees at RSK and its family of businesses donated their time, expertise and skills to support those in need.
