Aerial Surveys
The advantages of remote-controlled pilotless aircraft, or drones, are wide-ranging, sometimes even life-saving: delivering life-saving medicine to inaccessible places or gathering geotechnical data for assessing a site’s ground conditions. Drones negate the need to shut down plants or areas of operation during surveying, thereby saving time and money. Compared with manned helicopters, drones get much closer to the surveying goal, which means improved data density and high-quality survey results. Factoring in faster data acquisition and higher data resolution, and it is clear why drones and drone specialists occupy a vital part of any project within the commercial, industrial and infrastructure sectors, including rail, oil, gas, telecoms and renewable technology organisations.
RSK, through its drone specialists Orbital, has two decades of proven international aerial survey and geodata experience. The expert team works for a diverse range of industries across the globe, delivering high-quality imagery, analytics and reporting using ultramodern innovative cloud-based software.
Adept teams offering invaluable services
Our experienced, capable and diverse team informs the complex nature of our work. We have surveillance specialists, software developers, business analysts, cartographers, pipeline engineers, survey pilots and specialist unmanned aerial vehicle and lidar operators. Accordingly, we provide innovative solutions to unique challenges, and we guarantee prompt international coverage to an ever-expanding market, ensuring that the quality and consistency of our services are unparalleled wherever we operate.
Combing our diverse services
We combine our two decades of vast experience with the latest available technology and camera equipment to execute aerial photography surveys acquiring data faster and delivering higher data resolution or orthorectified imagery of your assets, whether that is road, rail, power transmission, telecoms, waterways or pipeline surveys. Our surveying specialists can deliver surveys of telecoms towers, cooling towers, lighthouses, chimneys and wind turbines and large-scale refineries and property and construction projects. We also provide 3D models derived from orthophotos, oblique photos and/or laser scanned data. The data can be used as stand-alone online viewers, integrated geo-datasets compatible with our clients’ GIS or via our data-management tool, Visivi, which combines overlapping, oblique, high-resolution (80 megapixels), forward and backwards aerial photography with online satellite imagery and client-specific vector mapping. With 3D aerial imagery, we can analyse a site from various angles and are able to measure volumes and distances. 3D models allow for a more informed decision when planning future developments.
