Mark has been an ecological consultant for over 25 years. Before joining the aquatic team at RSK Biocensus, he worked at ECON, a small consultancy based in Norwich, working on fisheries, lake management and biomanipulation projects in the Norfolk Broads, the Meres and Mosses and estate lakes. Following a spell at the Broads Authority, Mark returned to consultancy to run and develop Adler and Allan’s aquatic ecology and pollution incident response teams. Now, he is supporting the delivery of the RSK Biocensus aquatic team’s diverse range of projects.

Mark has been involved in prominent biomanipulation projects in England, including those at the Trinity Broads, Cockshoot Broad and Barton Broad for the Broads Authority and Norfolk Wildlife Trust and Betley Mere for Natural England. Through these projects, he has co-authored many academic papers on lake restoration and the impact of fish on lake condition and the Environment Agency’s R&D Technical Summary The Use of Biomanipulation.
