RSK demonstrates how a large global organisation can embed sustainability across more than 200 businesses and their supply chains
As we present our FY25 Sustainability Report, we reaffirm RSK’s commitment to creating lasting positive impact for our planet and people. This year has marked significant progress in our journey as we report for the first time, a full financial year of delivering Second Nature, our group’s 2030 sustainability strategy.
Second Nature aims to mainstream sustainability, making it the instinctive way we operate across our family of businesses, our value chain and beyond. Given RSK’s large group structure, one of the most important elements in this strategy is our business-level ESG plans. The creation of these plans challenges each of our businesses to adopt KPIs that are meaningful to their operations while also supportive of the overall group goals.
This report outlines our key achievements over the past year, reiterates the goals we have set for the future and provides detailed metrics across topics most critical to RSK.
FY25 performance highlights
Finance and governance
We will embed sustainability across our business
We are committed to growing our business responsibly and maintaining effective governance structures to embed sustainability in all that we do.
Key achievements in the year:
- Introduced ESG plans across our family of businesses, a process that resulted in the adoption of 929 ESG KPIs across the group.
- Completed a double materiality assessment in line with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive to guide prioritisation across data collection, reporting and strategic planning.
Our people
We will invest in our people as the greatest asset to our business
We are committed to building a safe, diverse and inclusive workplace that prioritises the wellbeing and fair treatment of all employees.
Key achievements in the year:
- Delivered eighth annual Safety Month, holding more than 800 safety workshops and reaching 14,762 employees (97% of the eligible workforce).
- Launched the RSK Accessibility Network to empower and advocate for people with disabilities and long-term health conditions.
- Conducted our first group-wide wellbeing survey, showing 71% employee satisfaction.
Value chain
We will collaborate with others for transformative impact
We are committed to delivering high-quality sustainable solutions that enhance our clients’ sustainability performance, while working in partnership with our suppliers to embed sustainable procurement practices.
Key achievements in the year:
- Published our first Group Procurement Strategy and accompanying Global Supply Chain Code of Conduct, creating a shared vision and framework for sustainable supply chain management.
- Completed 11 acquisitions, expanding the breadth and geographical coverage of our services to meet growing client demand for solutions that will drive sustainable growth and business resilience.
Society
We will contribute to sustainable, thriving communities where we operate
We are committed to making a measurable positive contribution to communities through the projects we deliver on behalf of our clients and through our own community engagements.
Key achievements in the year:
- Generated £8.9 million in social value, recorded through our new social value reporting platform.
- Completed our first human rights risk and gap assessment and published our first human rights policy, outlining our commitment to aligning our approach with international guidelines, standards and legislation.
Environment
We will minimise our impacts and restore the natural environment
We are committed to understanding our impacts and developing effective strategies to make efficient use of resources, minimise waste, reduce our carbon emissions and protect nature.
Key achievements in the year:
- Developed a Climate Transition Plan, outlining our route map to net zero by 2040.
- Awarded PAS 2080:2023 certification for carbon management.
- Completed a baseline biodiversity assessment, informing our first nature-related disclosure in alignment with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).
- Achieved 27% reduction in carbon emissions intensity compared to our FY20 baseline.

As the needs of our clients continue to evolve, RSK will remain at the forefront, expanding the breadth and depth of our service offering to help address global challenges, including those linked to climate change, resource scarcity and social responsibility.
Our family of 200+ businesses will continue to be guided by our group-wide strategy, Second Nature. This outlines the areas on which we need to focus to ensure all businesses are enhancing their sustainability performance, while looking to those businesses that are more advanced to help us raise the ambition across the group.
