Our sector expertise
Infrastructure
Our expertise is most evident in large-scale infrastructure initiatives that are shaping the future of Africa. We have delivered on multiple rail projects in Africa such as the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) projects in Tanzania and the Cape Gauge Line in Angola, which exemplify our role in connecting regions, fostering economic integration and supporting national ambitions for modern, efficient transport networks.
In these projects, RSK has provided critical environmental and engineering support, enabling development to proceed responsibly and in harmony with local communities and ecosystems. Our work on the SGR is complemented by our support of other major transport and infrastructure projects, such as the supervision of water pipeline construction in Liberia and the development of resilient road networks in West Africa. These collectively improve access, stimulate trade and enhance quality of life for millions of people.
Water
RSK’s impact extends far beyond infrastructure. In the water sector, we have advised the city of Cape Town in South Africa on water stewardship strategies that safeguard resources for future generations, and we have delivered innovative solutions to expand access to clean water in both urban and rural communities.
Mining
Our mining sector expertise has supported responsible resource extraction in countries such as Ghana and Zambia, where we have helped clients navigate complex environmental regulations and implement sustainable practices that benefit both local economies and the environment.
Renewables
In the renewables space, our work in Burundi – where we conducted livelihood risk assessments for a major renewable energy project – demonstrates our commitment to supporting Africa’s energy transition and delivering tangible social and economic benefits.
Remediation
Our risk-based remediation teams support primarily energy clients with soil and groundwater site assessment and pollution clean-up. This service also includes the selection and design of in situ and ex situ remediation options in line with international best practice.
