How to comprehensively scope solar PV NSIPs

David is a technical director at RSK Environment. He is a Chartered Environmentalist with over 24 years’ experience in the environment sector, 23 of which have been spent in environmental consultancy. His main experience relates to the environmental assessment and management of a wide range of projects, including energy schemes, road infrastructure projects (motorway, smart motorway, trunk road and local authority road schemes in Wales, England and Scotland), residential and mixed-use developments, pipelines and gas storage facilities.

David has particular expertise in Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP), project management of small-, medium- and large-scale environmental impact assessments (EIA), working closely with clients and statutory and non-statutory organisations, managing and motivating multidisciplinary teams and undertaking stakeholder consultation. He is also currently co-chair of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) North West Steering Group, a former chair of IEMA’s Impact Assessment Steering Group and a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.

Richard Marsh

Richard specialises in planning law and achieving fully implementable planning consents for major renewable energy, commercial development and transport projects. He leads BDB Pitmans’s energy practice and set up and leads the firm’s Climate Change Strategy Group. Richard has promoted numerous development consent order (DCO) and planning applications in respect of renewable energy (including several solar DCOs), waste, road, leisure, rail and urban transit and commercial projects. He has extensive experience of ensuring the legal robustness of application documents and environmental statements, case-making, managing projects and objections, conducting public inquiries and delivering major infrastructure and commercial projects.

Richard regularly speaks at conferences and writes articles on planning law and has been referenced in the Legal 500 Directory as “an experienced practitioner”, “outstanding” and “easy to deal with and quick to provide pragmatic advice”.

Mike Greslow

Chartered Town Planner and DCO Development Manager, RWE

Mike is a Chartered Town Planner and DCO development manager at RWE, where he is responsible for the delivery of NSIP-scale solar projects . He has over 17 years of experience working as a consultant and client-side on a variety of energy, aviation and highways NSIPs. Prior to joining RWE in 2022, Mike held roles at WSP, GL Hearn, Suez and Wood.
