BIM-enabled civil and electrical design for lower risk and faster delivery

Global investment in electricity grid infrastructure is set to increase significantly over the coming years, with substations forming a major and critical component of future transmission upgrades.

In the UK alone, initiatives such as the Great Grid Upgrade include around 130 new and upgraded high-voltage (HV) substations over the next five years. However, delivering this scale of infrastructure at pace presents real challenges, from increasingly constrained sites to stretched industry resources. To overcome these risks, enhanced design at an early stage is essential to ensure projects are de-risked and optimised for buildability. This is where integrated civil and electrical design services add value, using enhanced Building Information Modelling (BIM) to effectively manage the civil–electrical interface and produce clash-free, construction-ready designs.

Join us to learn more about our civil and electrical design and project management capabilities and the digital tools we are using to support the rapid build-out of essential grid infrastructure.
