It works within a wide range of sectors such as transport, rail, water, property and construction, nuclear and renewables.
The company’s experience provides a sound knowledge of all aspects of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, and its staff are always ready to give advice. As it operates various-sized drilling rigs and associated equipment, an investigation can be designed to suit the client’s requirements and to obtain information in the most efficient manner.
A key service is providing soil, rock and material testing, which can be undertaken at state-of-the-art and UKAS-accredited geotechnical and materials testing laboratories in Bristol, Castleford, Hemel Hempstead and Tonbridge, all of which are fully equipped and automated for testing soil, rock and aggregate materials with a wide variety of testing options.
Structural Soils’ dedicated in situ teams offer quick mobilisation with rapid reporting turnarounds and are fully integrated with ground investigation and drilling resources teams, enabling the business to offer a full package of ground investigation services. In situ testing services include soil bearing capacity and in situ strength, field density and compaction, infiltration and field thermal resistivity.
Structural Soils’ experienced and highly qualified geotechnical team identifies issues at an early stage and reacts quickly to deliver practical, robust and value-engineered ground investigation and design solutions that are tailored to the project’s requirements. Services include preliminary risk assessments, intrusive ground investigations, reporting and advice, as well as remediation and validation work. It also provides a hire service for specialist geotechnical equipment for delivery throughout the UK.
Through the use of its own varied boring and drilling rigs, Structural Soils is able to offer light cable percussive drilling, rotary drilling, rotary coring, window and dynamic sampling, piston sampling and concrete coring, among other services.
