RSK Materials and Structures offers a wide range of services, has over 50 years’ combined experience of site investigations and allied materials consultancy and operates a UKAS-accredited laboratory. Some of RSK Materials and Structures’ key services include structural inspection and investigation, condition assessment, site sampling surveys, due diligence, testing and decay detection.

Materials investigation and consultancy services can include materials evaluation, concrete testing, investigations into cladding and flooring, defect and failure investigations, vendor assessment inspections, non-destructive testing of off- and on-site manufacturing, fabrication, coating and finishing. The company is able to provide specialised investigation and laboratory services for heritage buildings and sites. It can also provide expert witness support where required.

A wide range of laboratory services are offered, including interpretation and assessment of data, chemical analysis and petrographic examinations of concrete, mortar, rock, aggregate, stone, synthetic materials and more. Further laboratory services include microscopic analysis, durability assessments and deleterious materials investigation.

Site testing services available include non-destructive testing techniques, such as covermeter and ferroscan surveys, ultrasonic pulse velocity, waterproof membrane and internal fracture testing, as well as moisture content assessments and strength grading of timber. Instrumented load testing is offered to test virtual loads of structural elements and floors, testing of horizontal load and proof of vehicle barriers, with bespoke test rig design.
