With extensive knowledge of asbestos, inhalable and respirable dust and quartz and various airborne contaminants, its teams ensure compliance and that legislative requirements are met.

Its analytical services include analysis of asbestos material and asbestos in soil; sampling and analysis of respirable dust, inhalable dust and respirable quartz; and sampling of respirable quartz in bulk solids and the air . It can also conduct hazardous materials surveys and risk assessments, risk management solutions, management of asbestos removal projects, asbestos management plans and strategies, occupational hygiene-related laboratory services and specialised training.

Consulting services include hazardous materials surveys and risk assessments for asbestos-containing materials, synthetic mineral fibres and lead in paint. Risk assessment and workplace surveys include asbestos (airborne fibres and asbestos-containing materials), airborne dust (inhalable and respirable dust, respirable silica and welding fumes), airborne contaminants (chemicals, solvents, pesticides, acid mist and alkalis), noise (sound level meter measurements, noise dosimetry and noise contour maps), lighting surveys, indoor air quality, chemical hazards, confined spaces, diesel particulate and extraction ventilation measurements and assessments. Additional asbestos management services include inspections, register preparation and management plans.

Training services for clients are available on subjects such as asbestos awareness, respirable and inhalable dust, respirable quartz and diesel particulates.

In addition to laboratory services for testing and sampling purposes, RSK Labs can provide work health, safety and environment (WHSE) audits, management systems and management plans.

RSK Labs is NATA accredited to conduct measurement and analysis and to advise national committees, including Standards Australia and NATA itself. Its occupational hygienists are certified Associate, Full or Fellow members of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH). RSK Labs is also the reference laboratory for PTA and creates reference samples for asbestos air monitoring and asbestos bulk and asbestos in soil analysis. These samples are used to benchmark commercial laboratories across Australia.
