RSK Falkland Islands undertakes construction and infrastructure developments in the South Atlantic, primarily for the Falkland Islands.
In March 2020, RSK acquired the construction company Morrison Falkland Ltd, which has been successfully undertaking construction, civil engineering and infrastructure developments in the South Atlantic, primarily for the Falkland Islands Government.
During 20 years of operation, Morrison Falkland and the Falkland Islands Government operated through a collaborative contract culture governed by a partnership agreement. The new business is now trading as RSK Falkland Islands Limited. The main office is located in Stanley, the capital of the Falkland Islands.
The multi-skilled team has successfully delivered large- and small-scale projects, primarily in the Falkland Islands, but also in other remote areas, including the Antarctic ice shelf, South Georgia, Ascension Island, Tristan da Cunha and St Kilda off the west coast of Scotland.
Capital works in the Falkland Islands include the delivery of waste management and treatment infrastructure and the ongoing upgrade and repair of existing local infrastructure, ongoing development of local hospital and medical facilities, infrastructure development for industrial units and access for a sports facility, housing infrastructure and housing solutions.
Additionally, RSK Falkland Islands has been responsible for structural frame design on infrastructure buildings, as well as mechanical and electrical design and installation. It has also been responsible for procuring and shipping 8500 mΒ³ of containerised materials, plant and equipment. The company was appointed to finalise the design inclusive of all mechanical and electrical (M&E) services and to build this combined facility based on the proposed floor arrangement.
RSK Falkland Islands has been awarded a place on the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) Capital Framework, which gives access to multiple opportunities on the Mount Pleasant joint services base in the Falklands and on Ascension Island. The company is also providing technical services and support to the Falkland Islands Government, from material testing to horticulture support.
Clients include the Falkland Islands Government, the DIO and the British Antarctic Survey, along with associated clients that specialise in delivery in remote locations. RSK Falkland Islands also works alongside and in collaboration with several other RSK businesses, including Binnies, Copper Consultancy, RSK IWS and RJT Excavations.
