Risk assessments can comprise historical analysis of a site, including a review of ground combat activities and aerial bombing data, as well as assessing risks from unexploded ordnance (UXO) and landmines.

QSI’s technical specialists can observe clearance operations on-site in order to assess the type and standard of equipment and procedures being employed. Advice on depth specification to mitigate the risk from surface and sub-surface UXO and deep-buried, unexploded air-delivered munitions is provided. Clients are able to receive one-off or ongoing assistance depending on their requirements.

QSI can assist with the design of quality management plans and the deployment of quality monitors, in accordance with international and national standards and protocols for mine action required by the country involved.

Internationally, its clients include government agencies, international humanitarian organisations and commercial entities from the oil and gas and mining sectors. It has successfully provided these services in Angola, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Iraq, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar and Serbia.
