The business offers a multidisciplinary approach to ecological assessments and surveys. Employing 40 people based at its office in Ennis, its services cover terrestrial, marine and freshwater environments.

The company works largely within Ireland’s renewable energy sector, a market that is anticipated to grow significantly over the next ten years. Within this sector, the team has worked on hydro, solar and offshore and onshore wind projects. It is recognised as being at the forefront of constraints identification and mitigation design for renewable energy projects in Ireland.

Inis Environmental Consultants works to assist in balancing vital ecological considerations and needs with technological innovation and progress. It has a proven track record in the delivery of high-quality ecology products, having been commissioned by some of Ireland’s largest energy developers to complete the ecology remits on their projects. Whether it be a wind farm, solar farm or small hydro scheme, Inis is able to ensure that the client can proceed through each phase of development, satisfying both the interests of stakeholders and the bigger ecological picture.

With the ever-increasing demands of ecological and environmental legislation, Inis brings expertise and excellence in identifying and investigating a client’s potential exposure to liability. Inis’s ability to collate and gather data, as well as to communicate with local interest groups, statutory bodies and clients, places it in a unique position from which it can provide a scientifically accurate and concise assessment of project needs, relevant data and projected outcomes.

The team consists of highly respected and expert on-site managers, ecologists, Ecological Clerks of Works, field surveyors, habitat specialists and geographic information system (GIS) specialists.
