Extent Heritage
Extent Heritage, formed in 2016, is Australia’s largest national heritage management and archaeological business. With teams based in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Hobart and Perth, it provides a single point of service for all heritage assessment and management requirements across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
The business specialises in built and urban heritage, archaeology, cultural and historic landscapes, Aboriginal cultural heritage and storytelling through heritage interpretation. To date, it has successfully completed over 1000 projects across Australia.
Extent Heritage provides a full range of heritage services across Australia. The company is one of very few with the scale, processes and project management capability to be able to undertake major projects in the sector. Over their 25-year history, Extent Heritage and its merged predecessor companies have built an extensive public and private sector client base. The business has market-leading capabilities in the identification and management of Indigenous cultural heritage in partnership with Aboriginal communities.
The company is growing quickly and undertaking an increasing number of large, multi-year projects, and its highly experienced team, which includes some of the industry’s most respected professionals, has extensive national and international networks.
Changing social and political attitudes, including ‘Voice to Parliament’, have resulted in an increased focus on Aboriginal issues and engagement with Indigenous people. Heritage is now seen as one of the major risks on many new developments, a complex area that is key to project success.
The offshore wind sector in Australia is forecast to grow rapidly. Extent Heritage has the commercial capabilities and collaborative relationships to bring together maritime archaeology and marine geophysics with an understanding of Aboriginal cultural heritage and engagement with Aboriginal communities in order to effectively assess the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of ‘Sea Country’.
Extent Heritage is set apart by its commitment to best practice, its connections with local communities, the collective strengths of its people and close engagement with clients to understand their needs, lower their risks and unlock value in their projects.
