AquaGen365
AquaGen365 offers a ‘one stop shop’ turnkey set of services for the installation and operation of Floating Solar PV (FPV). The services include, feasibility, consenting, design, installation, operations and maintenance.
AquaGen365, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and operating worldwide, offers a one-stop-shop turnkey set of services for the installation and operation of floating photovoltaics (FPV). Services include feasibility, consenting, design, installation, operations, assisting with power purchase agreements and maintenance.
Formed in 2024, AquaGen365 is a joint venture between RSK and Nova Innovation that brings together Nova’s expertise and technology solutions in freshwater and marine environments and RSK’s consultancy, engineering and contracting expertise. It specialises in creating cutting-edge, robust FPV solutions, including grid-connected, behind-the-meter and hybrid generation projects.
The business’s focus is on collaborating with landowners, water asset owners and seabed rights owners who share a commitment to deploying and realising the benefits of renewable energy generation. Its turnkey product and service offering carries the assurance of decades of project delivery, including solar PV, onshore wind, tidal stream and hydro power. Solutions provide clean, low-cost, scalable and reliable energy sources while preserving valuable land resource and significantly conserving water resources.
FPV installations can be deployed in inland lakes, quarry pits, reservoirs and irrigation ponds, and nearshore areas, encompassing ports, harbours, industrial operations and utilities operating in coastal locations.
Offshore locations, and particularly offshore wind farms, are a growing area of interest for the floating solar industry. Wind and solar have complementary annual generation profiles, enabling offshore infrastructure and cables to be better utilised to lower costs and improve power stability.
The success of the Aquagen365 collaboration has already been demonstrated by the Port of Leith project in Edinburgh, which now helps to power Forth Ports’ headquarters with clean, low-cost renewable energy.
