RSK created Solutions By Nature in response to the climate emergency. The newly formed company provides its clients with a catchment-based, whole-life-cycle approach to delivering blue–green infrastructure solutions that can reverse the effects of water pollution and biodiversity loss while reducing carbon emissions. This joint-venture partnership combines 100 years of Binnies’ engineering expertise with Salix’s nature-based solutions.

Solutions By Nature’s vision is to create resilience in the environment naturally by combining expert knowledge, specialist machinery and the largest and most diverse nursery infrastructure in the UK, which produces more than two million plants annually representing more than 200 native species.

We create solutions, including for peatland restoration, green infrastructure, river restoration and integrated constructed wetlands, using natural processes and materials. These enable us to create low-carbon and carbon-negative options that are resilient to climate change impacts and provide long-term financial benefits.

Using ongoing digital monitoring techniques, our engineers and environmental scientists help our clients understand the performance of their estates by providing quantifiable performance analyses of nature-based recovery that will enable them to meet their sustainability, carbon, economic and societal targets.
