Electrokinetic is a small business based in the North East of England that provides innovative solutions for remediating unstable slopes and dewatering slurries and sludges. Founded in 2001, it uses patented electrokinetic geosynthetics (EKG) technology originally developed by a team at Newcastle University that included Electrokinetic Technical Director, John Lamont-Black.
The company has pioneered the commercial application of EKG products and processes through an extensive family of patents relating to EKG materials, applications and methods. It works closely with RSK’s Central Alliance business. Major clients of Electrokinetic include Highways England, Network Rail, Amey, Mott MacDonald, Ørsted and De Beers.
