In April 2020, to meet the increasing demand for operations and management supply chain contractors, RSK and its subsidiary technical services business CAN launched a new company, CAN Renewables. The business services clients in the wind, solar and hydro sectors by combining long track records in renewable energy, specialist operations and maintenance to deliver multibrand engineering solutions. By utilising the existing in-depth experience of maintenance, inspection and repair of multi-megawatt systems, it offers installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of renewable energy systems. The global RSK network of support will enable the company to work in almost any environment, all over the world.
Continued development of renewable energy sites, asset inspection and preventive maintenance are critical to maximise power output and ensure return on investment for all assets. As a part of RSK, the company draws on more than 20 years of experience in providing operational support to client portfolios that include on- and offshore wind, solar and hydro power generation. A team of experienced in-house personnel bring a collective wealth of experience in finding innovative ways of delivering challenging projects safely and cost effectively. The addition of this business will expand on the capability of existing RSK services to cover the full lifespan of renewables assets.
In 2021, rope access company CAS was acquired by CAN Renewables and brought in its specialisms in comprehensive turbine maintenance services, including cleaning, tower paint repairs, ladder and access system repairs, and repairing busbar energy transfer systems in Senvion brand turbines.
