RSK provides expert witness services for reporting and testimony in a wide range of environmental, engineering and construction-related disciplines, but you may not be aware that we can also offer services in support of expert investigations.

For example, when a London-based engineering expert was unable to get to a site in the north west of England owing to COVID-19 travel restrictions, RSK’s structural engineers, ACIES Civil and Structural Limited, stepped in at short notice to assist.

Over a period of several weeks, we were able to send a team of suitably qualified and experienced engineers to the site, where they carried out a thorough structural investigation on multiple buildings and made a complete record of findings as they went. Our team’s deep understanding of, and extensive experience in, their service area enabled them to successfully obtain accurate, detailed results for the project. The results were compiled into comprehensive photo reports, annotated with comments and observations and referenced back to a complex set of building plans. The reports were supplemented with video evidence, enabling the expert engineer to have a close-up view of the opened-up structure. All reporting was carried out to the specific instructions of the expert engineer and developed as the job progressed to meet his exact requirements.

This was a service born out of necessity and is an excellent example of RSK’s ability to adapt and provide workable solutions in time-sensitive situations. We have all had to find smarter and safer ways to work recently and we have not always been able to do things the way we used to. It makes sense to use a knowledgeable local team to gather information or report back on conditions, and RSK has the in-house capability to provide these professional resources throughout the UK and worldwide.
