RSK’s latest asset: Asbestos removals specialist PA Group

August 02, 2020

On 15 July, RSK announced the double acquisition of asbestos removal specialist PA Group and civil and structural engineering company RoC Consulting.

This week we offer an insight into PA Group, which is based in Dartford, UK, and headed by Managing Director Chris Miller-Hanna.

Chris explains, “PA Group is a multidisciplinary, Health and Safety Executive licensed asbestos removal and UKAS-accredited asbestos inspection and testing contractor specialising in asbestos management. It is SafeContractor approved and a Constructionline Gold member. We employ 50 people and provide a flexible and comprehensive portfolio of asbestos services, including asbestos surveys, remediation, roofing and contract delivery, to property and construction clients in the public and private sectors.

“We pride ourselves on our commitment to health and safety and a caring culture for both our staff and our clients. This has earned us a lot of repeat business over the years and fits well with RSK’s ethos, which is why we were so keen to join the group. We have a very experienced and dedicated team.”

PA Group’s services include

  • Asbestos surveys
  • Laboratory services via its in-house UKAS-accredited laboratory
  • Refurbishment surveys
  • Remediation, including Health and Safety Executive licensed remedial works and non-licensable works
  • Consultancy and awareness training
  • Air testing and monitoring
  • Compliance management
  • Project management
  • Reinstatement
  • Strip-out packages (minor to shell and core)
  • Enabling and works packages
  • Roofing
  • Building services.

The business’s major recent projects include asbestos removal at the historic Alexandra Palace, London, for Willmott Dixon; asbestos surveys for Ipswich Borough Council; and, since 2011, asbestos surveys, reinspections and management advice at sites throughout the UK for the Canal & River Trust.

PA Group offers a 24/7 helpline and an emergency call-out service. “Although we are based in Kent, we operate across the whole of the UK and have fantastic transport links being so close to the Dartford Crossing,” continues Chris. “Working with asbestos can require a fast response, so we are committed to being there when our clients need us, thereby minimising exposure and liability.”

PA Group is part of RSK’s contracting division and will work closely with RSK’s existing asbestos business.

“I look forward to working with the rest of the RSK businesses to achieve mutual benefits for our clients and to realise the opportunities that may unfold for the team at PA Group,” Chris concludes.
