RSK teams based in Tanzania are working with Tembo Nickel Corporation Limited to prepare a resettlement action plan in support of the communities neighbouring a new nickel mine. The site, known as the Kabanga Nickel Project, is located in the north-west district of Ngara, Tanzania, and is anticipated to become one of the continent’s largest nickel-mining sites.
RSK has been working on the project since April 2022. The team is working in collaboration with the local communities and stakeholders to prepare resettlement action and livelihood restoration plans, and a resettlement-specific stakeholder engagement plan (SEP), in compliance with Tanzanian legislation and the International Finance Corporation’s Performance Standards (IFCPS).
