RSK sponsors ‘the Oscars of Exploration’
May 06, 2020RSK is excited to share the trailer for the Scientific Exploration Society (SES) Explorer Awards, which will this year be held virtually on 20 May. The awards, sponsored by RSK for the second year running, have been dubbed ‘the Oscars of exploration’ by the BAFTA-winning English naturalist, writer and television presenter Steve Backshall, an SES Honorary Award winner and society ambassador.
Visit the Scientific Exploration Society website.

Also supported by big names in exploration Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Major Timothy Peake, Major Levison Wood, Mark Beaumont, John Volanthen and Dr Jane Goodall, the event promises to be an adventure in itself.
Echoing SES’s long history of worldwide exploration and pioneering leadership, the society’s quest to encourage ‘scientific trailblazers’ and ‘pioneers with purpose’ is the primary focus of the Explorer Awards, which support inspirational leaders through scientific exploration at the frontiers of human discovery. SES aims to encourage and enhance chosen careers by providing high profile awards for projects that will also leave a lasting legacy and benefit. They seek rising stars whose passion for environmental sustainability, health and conservation set them out to become major influencers for future generations.

In 2020, six explorer awards will be presented to trailblazing explorers, each including a grant of at least £4,000 to support the winning scientific projects.
With innovation at its core, RSK is proud to sponsor the awards and to back SES’s ethos of supporting scientific discovery, research and conservation in remote parts of the world. RSK scientists will continue to push the boundaries of science to better understand our environment and assess the likely impacts associated with development. We also remain committed to assisting clients with mitigation measures to ensure that long-term effects of development are as low as reasonably practicable. Being adaptable and innovative is especially important throughout the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and we are committed to helping our clients through this.
We invite you all to join this epic evening of adventure; please register for free here.
