RSK reshapes employee benefits around sustainability with electric car scheme

RSK has launched an exciting new benefit scheme in a bid to help its UK employees reduce their carbon footprints.

We have teamed up with Tusker to introduce an electric and plug-in hybrid salary sacrifice car benefit scheme that can be accessed through our existing employee benefits scheme, which enables RSK employees to drive away a brand new, fully maintained and insured car for up to four years.

The scheme, which offers a brand new electric or plug-in hybrid car for a fixed monthly amount, comes with some excellent benefits, including fully comprehensive insurance that includes business use, servicing, maintenance, tyres, road fund licence and breakdown cover.

This exciting new benefit encompasses one of RSK’s underlying principles, “Promoting the concept of sustainability in all that we do”. Over the last 32 years, we have been on a journey to integrate sustainability principles into all aspects of our operations.

We have been working extremely hard to manage our corporate responsibility, including our carbon footprint, and we have taken steps at our offices to replace boilers, start introducing electric vans and the installation of electric vehicle charging points.

At the time of writing, livery has just been added to our new electric fleet vehicles and electric vehicle charging points have been installed at our head office in Helsby, Cheshire, UK, and at several other locations, including Hemel Hempstead, Bristol, Boxworth and Glasgow. The CR Civil Engineering site in Loughborough and the WRc offices in Swindon are well on the way to having their own electric vehicle charging points installed over the next few months.

The next step is to help our employees make the switch to electric vehicles so that, collectively, we can have a reduced impact on the planet.

Sarah Mogford, RSK Divisional Director, who took part in the pilot scheme said, “I was really keen to be involved in the electric car pilot scheme because it was something we had been considering for a while in our house. It is a fantastically tax-efficient way to purchase an electric car under the current HMRC rules, so it’s both an environmental and financial win!

“RSK’s partner Tusker, aided by Alex McKinlay from RSK’s fleet team, has been really helpful in guiding me through the process and answering any queries quickly, which made it really easy. I’m getting very excited now because my car arrives next week!”
