RSK pleased to announce launch of Advantage RSK

February 03, 2022

Leading environmental, engineering and technical services business RSK is pleased to announce the launch of a brand new business that will provide quantity surveying and commercial and project management services to the civil engineering and construction sectors.

Advantage RSK, which launched on 2 February 2022, is a vibrant and innovative team made up of chartered quantity surveyors and commercial management consultants. It is headed up by joint owners and Managing Directors John O’Malley and Sean Kennelly.

The new business will offer a niche service and will craft client-specific solutions to the challenges of the commercial world, drawing support from a reservoir of RSK-affiliated companies that, combined, have a global network.

Advantage RSK aims to provide strategic, objective and commercial advice to its clients, emphasising conflict avoidance and resolution.

Using its combined accumulation of specialist knowledge and expertise, the team will resolve challenges with the direct and informed application of innovative services that cover all aspects of commercial management, including pre-contract, post-contract and dispute management.

While long-term goals include expansion to reach global markets, the medium-term priorities will be to secure new international clients and entering markets in the UK. In the short-term, Advantage RSK will continue to foster relationships and form synergies with other RSK businesses.

Co-owner John O’Malley has more than 20 years’ experience as a high-calibre, innovative leader with a wealth of knowledge in quantity surveying, commercial management and leading on major civil engineering projects throughout the UK. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) expert witness and an accredited NEC3 and NEC4 project manager.

Of the launch, John said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for RSK to grow and expand into new markets, underpinned by the success and fundamentals of the wider group of companies.”

Sean Kennelly has had an illustrious international career spanning the Middle East and the UK in the oil and gas, infrastructure and construction sectors, and has acted as party representative in more than 30 adjudications and mediations. An industry leader in his field, Sean is well versed in managing dispute resolutions.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Sean said: “We have ambitious plans for growth and look forward to the journey ahead.”
