RSK is excited to announce that today sees the kick-off of “Sustainability Focus”: a series of events that will promote the importance of sustainability in our day-to-day operations.
Sustainability Focus, which will be held between 13 and 26 September 2021, will consist of a series of internal webinars and toolbox talks to shine a light on the vitally important sustainability debate.
Throughout the event, which is the latest step in our company’s sustainability journey, we will be highlighting RSK’s sustainability goals and looking at ways each and every one of us can adapt our everyday routines to more sustainable living.
Based on the theme “Kick-starting our decade of action”, Sustainability Focus will demonstrate our commitment to supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) and the associated Decade of Action that recognise the need to accelerate sustainable solutions to the biggest challenges the world is facing and to deliver these by 2030.
A number of RSK experts will be sharing their knowledge and expertise on sustainability and associated issues and will deliver a series of modules, including on biodiversity, water, social value, carbon and renewable energy.
A common theme throughout all the modules will be the importance of sustainability to our business. Sessions will explore the UNSDG and will identify what RSK is doing at group level and how employees can participate in developing RSK’s sustainability route map by identifying future targets for the second part of the Decade of Action (2025–2030).
Lucy Thomas, Chief Scientist and Managing Director for the RSK Africa business, said: “As the UNSDG Decade of Action is upon us, we are hugely excited to announce RSK’s group-wide event focused on sustainability.
“It is a wonderful opportunity for employees around the world to share knowledge on rapidly growing topics, to learn something outside their usual day-to-day activities and contribute to RSK’s sustainability initiatives. We trust this will enhance our service offering to clients, inspire employees to innovate and meet colleagues they would otherwise rarely, if ever, come across in their day-to-day work activities.”
And Sarah Mogford, Divisional Director for Environment and Planning, added, “We already know about the passion we have within the RSK family about the need for action.
“These two weeks enable us to showcase and debate not only what expertise we have to offer our clients, but also what we can do corporately and as individuals in the workplace to make sure sustainability really is at the heart of what we do.”
