August 20, 2021

RSK is delighted to have been shortlisted for ten awards in the prestigious Ground Engineering Awards 2021.

Considering the challenges the industry has faced over the past 18 months, it is fantastic to get such esteemed recognition for the hard work its businesses have put in.

Open to any business involved in the ground engineering market, The Ground Engineering Awards unite the leaders of the industry and celebrate the fantastic achievements of projects, people and businesses across geotechnical engineering. Achieving a Ground Engineering Award helps businesses to stand out and pays tribute to staff for their efforts.

The prestigious line-up of judges is said to have had a tough job narrowing down this year’s entries and was extremely impressed by the calibre of the applications.

Structural Soils is a finalist for five awards, including for Ground Investigation of the Year for its work on the HS2 Colne Valley Viaduct and Havant Thicket Reservoir Pre-Construction Ground Investigations; UK Geotechnical Team of the Year for its work on Transpennine Rail Upgrade (TRU) West and Ground Investigation Specialist of the Year.

Also up for three awards is Central Alliance, which received nods in the Specialist Geotechnical Supplier of the Year category and for Technical Excellence and Digital Innovation.

Meanwhile, RSK Group is shortlisted along with Atkins, Portsmouth Water, Agilia Infrastructure Partners, Socotec UK and Careys Group for the Havant Thicket reservoir pre-construction ground investigations.
In addition, CAN Geotechnical is shortlisted for the UK Project with a Geotechnical Value of up to £500k award for the Clock Café chalet beachfront in Scarborough.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 23 November 2021 at The Brewery, London.
A spokesperson for the awards said they were delighted to be hosting the 2021 awards in person, as last year’s event was held virtually.

“We will be bringing people together and highlighting the success of the ground engineering sector,” the spokesperson said. “Our categories cover amazing projects, technical excellence and forward-thinking geotechnical companies across the UK, which are assessed by our independent panel of judges.”

Stephen Mackereth, Managing Director, Structural Soils expressed his delight at being shortlisted: “It is really pleasing for the whole team that, having come through the significant challenges we all faced over the last 12 months, Structural Soils successes in last year’s Ground Engineering awards are acknowledged as not being just a flash in the pan  by being shortlisted in five award categories for our work this year.”
