The shortlist for this year’s Ground Engineering Awards has been revealed, with RSK group companies receiving a combined nine nominations. RSK group companies Structural Soils, CAN and Central Alliance have been shortlisted across eight categories for the 2022 awards.
Every year, the Ground Engineering Awards “bring together leaders from across the industry to celebrate the achievements of projects, people and businesses in the past year”.
RSK company Structural Soils has been shortlisted for six awards: the Award for Digital Innovation for its Flowfinity – bespoke real time data capture, management and delivery tool; the Award for Equipment Innovation and the Health and Safety Award for its cable percussion manual handling and foot protection device; and Ground Investigation Project of the Year for its work on the Kendal flood risk management scheme phases 2 and 3. The team at Structural Soils is also nominated for Ground Investigation Specialist of the Year, which aims to recognise “continued dedication to delivering innovation, quality and value” and Contractor of the Year, which “celebrates the achievements of geotechnical contractors or specialist geotechnical divisions”.
Group company Central Alliance is up against Structural Soils for Ground Investigation Project of the Year for the Portland Port ground investigation. The team received a second nomination in partnership with ASTERRA for the Award for Technical Excellence for its coal tip GroundSat study.
CAN Geotechnical rounds up the group company nominations with a shortlisting for the UK Project with a Geotechnical Value of between £1–3M award for its Canford Cliffs slope stabilisation scheme.
“I am thrilled to see RSK companies so well represented at this year’s awards. The nominations again showcase the depth of expertise across eight categories and I am proud of the teams and businesses involved in all these amazing projects. I look forward to what I hope is a successful awards evening,” said Claire Knighton, Technical Services Divisional Director.
“I am pleased to see CAN nominated alongside colleagues from the wider group at this year’s awards,” added George Tuckwell, Geosciences and Engineering Divisional Director. “The nomination highlights the skill and expertise of the team involved in the project and is truly deserved recognition of all their hard work. I wish them and the other RSK companies nominated this year the best of luck on the night.”
The Ground Engineering Awards ceremony will take place at Grosvenor House in London on 6 September 2022, when the winners will be announced.
