For many years, RSK has been an Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) Q-Mark member, which recognises excellence in the delivery of environmental impact assessments (EIA). RSK supports colleagues through progression across the various IEMA professional membership grades recognising their professional competency in environmental and sustainability disciplines. In April, RSK successfully attained corporate IEMA membership supporting our work at a strategic level within the industry.
On 10 April 2019, RSK environment, health and safety team leader Dave Allen and RSK director Warren Percival attended the first of three employers forums held for corporate members hosted at Skanska’s HQ. The forums gave RSK the opportunity to network with over 40 key clients and partake in strategic industry debate and roundtables which included
- Discussions on sustainable development goals and sustainability and business resilience
- Debates about air quality and the upcoming world environment day
- Questioning how key policy changes and high-level IEMA discussions are influencing the new proposals under the Environment Bill
- Discussions about the changes to the Environment Act (which will outline our legal framework for a generation to come); tackling Brexit issues; and analysing the proposed Office for Environmental Protection (OEP).
Skanska delivered a presentation showcasing their sustainability journey and highlighted the great work RSK has been doing to keep their sustainability managers up to speed on changes in legislation through RSK’s environment, health and safety team, the RSK EHS Legal Portal service and associated webinars.
