RSK is delighted to announce it has expanded its Geosciences and Engineering division with the acquisition of Bristol-based chartered engineering firm Milner Associates.
The team of engineers delivers extensive expert engineering consulting services, with expertise in offsite construction and timber structures.
The core team of specialist industry experts is proficient in timber and light-steel-frame techniques. They have also authored industry guidance with organisations like BRE, TRADA, NHBC, LABC and ISTructE.
The team provides the Structural Timber Association with technical services, including authoritative guidance on technical papers covering various issues and themes, such as structural insulated panels, mass timber engineering, fire-risk assessment and resistance solutions, and thermal and acoustic performance.
Milner Associates will sharpen RSK’s experience in fire safety and sustainable design and identifying defects in new build and historic structures. Its consultancy focuses on volumetric engineering, timber-product development, checks and inspections, fire-risk assessment and forensic engineering.
Key clients include Barratts, Facit, Speller Metcalfe, Seddon, Taylor Wimpey, Taylor Lane, and Redrow, as well as solicitors and insurance companies.
Milner Associates Managing Director Martin Milner will continue to lead the business as it joins RSK. The company will offer a single point of engagement on projects involving foundations, drainage, sustainability and building physics and structural timber.
“Milner Associates has punched well above its weight through the expertise and energy of the team. Now, with the support of the RSK family of companies and its knowledge, we can provide holistic services and enhance the support of the core team of experts to advance the industry in sustainability and safe building solutions.”
