Jubilant staff from RSK group business RoC Consulting are on top of the world after winning their fourth prestigious award in just two weeks.
Hot on the heels of an outstanding triple win at the 2021 Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) North West Awards earlier this month, the team has now received an accolade in the Wood Awards 2021 winners’ ceremony, which recognises this year’s best structures made out of timber.
The company shares the Structural Award win with architects Hodder+Partners for their work on the Welcome Building, which sits within a new garden at the RHS Garden Bridgewater in Worsley, Salford, UK.
Both companies were there to receive their award at a ceremony held at London’s Building Centre on November 25.
RoC Consulting’s team of structural engineers led by Jon Smith, Design Director, developed the structural design, while Hodder+Partners created a low, linear building under a single overarching glulam timber diagrid, supported on structural glulam trees.
Jon Smith and his team are thrilled to add yet another award to their trophy cabinet for their work on this prestigious project, two weeks after previous successes that saw their work on the same project receive “medium project” and “most sustainable project” accolades from IStructE while also winning the “small project” award for the Airport City Manchester bridge.
Everyone at RSK is thrilled for the team!
