And they’re off! RSK’s fifth Pedometer Challenge gets underway

May 01, 2021

RSK employees are dusting off their walking shoes and reaching for their pedometers, exercise watches and smartphones: RSK’s fifth Pedometer Challenge starts today, Saturday 1 May!

Over 900 people are ready and raring to go across our solo stepper, team trekker and family footsteps categories. Entering individually, or in teams with colleagues or family members and friends, participants will have until Sunday 30 May to work together to try to beat our previous group total of 223 million steps, as well as compete for some all-important prizes.

We will be documenting our Pedometer Challenge activities on social media by using #RSKSteps so give us some support on Facebook and Instagram by liking, sharing and commenting on our posts.

Previous pedometer challenge

Two specific social media campaigns to look out for and get involved with (whether or not you are taking part in the challenge itself):

Share the bear and butterfly: One for our family footsteppers and something to get your children excited about! This year, you can print and cut out a copy of our new RSK bear and butterfly mascots and take them with you on your walk. We would love to see all the adventures they get up to during the challenge, so get creative, take some pictures and share them on social media with #RSKSteps. Where will the bear and butterfly end up?

The Pedometer Challenge rocks! Decorate a stone with #RSKSteps and take pictures of it in different locations along your walks. Don’t forget to share your photos on social media, and you could even leave the stone somewhere on your route to get people talking!

Keep Mind in mind

This year RSK is donating £1 to RSK’s chosen charity, Mind for every Pedometer Challenge registration that we received – we are delighted to announce that we have already raised an amazing £1,000 for our chosen charity!

Good luck and happy stepping!

📢 November is a month dedicated to men’s health.

🌍 On November 19th, we celebrated #InternationalMensDay, a global holiday that highlights the positive value men bring to the world.

🤝 This year, men around RSK are taking part in #Movember, an initiative that involves growing a moustache during November to raise awareness of men’s health issues.

💚 We want to thank Greg Cole, James May, Jiano Pulickal, Matthew Bayliff, Maxwell Robinson, Sam Oakley, Tom Llewellyn, Tom Semmens and Yusuf Aoulad-Ali for participating in this great initiative!
