RSK has appeared in the latest issue of Jobs & Careers, an across-industry careers publication. The Winter 2020 magazine includes both a profile on RSK as an employer, and an article on recruiting engineers, which features Oliver Evans, trainee project engineer at Up & Under, part of the RSK group.
The employer profile highlights RSK’s focus on ‘doing the right thing’: for its people, for the environment and for our communities: “Global environmental and engineering group RSK has seen significant growth in recent years, but its people remain at the heart of everything it does. The simple business ethos of ‘doing the right thing’ is proving a successful strategy, especially in attracting talent into the business.”
The article cites RSK’s sponsorship of local sports teams, and the RSK family montage that was produced in response to the pandemic, as examples of RSK’s dedication to its communities and its people respectively.
Zoe Brunswick, RSK HR Director, told the publication, “I am proud of how RSK treats its people and I think this has become particularly apparent throughout the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic… It is a difficult time for us all, but we are metaphorically standing together when we cannot physically.”
The profile goes on to detail RSK’s latest actions to ensure that it is taking responsibility when it comes to environmental impact. This includes switching to a 100% renewable energy tariff, implementing a green travel plan, and helping clients to operate responsibly.
The second article, featuring RSK’s Oliver Evans, examines the lucrative engineering careers market, and why it is good news for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the industry. The piece highlights that “19% of the country’s workforce are employed in engineering-related roles”, with the industry still “crying out for new recruits”. Oliver, who started his career in the armed forces, told Jobs & Careers, “I wanted a challenge after leaving the Royal Engineers… I joined Up & Under – an engineering consultancy that carries out inspections and surveys of bridges… finding such a challenging role has definitely helped my transition into civilian.”
