Do you know any budding engineers?

After the success of our environmental activity packs for KS2 and children ages 7–8, we are delighted to launch our new educational pack specifically for Key Stage 3.

RSK’s technical experts have always been keen to share their knowledge with colleagues and clients but now, with parents around the world juggling homeschooling alongside everything else, we’d like to help. Today, 23 June, is International Women in Engineering Day, so what better time to introduce your children to the world of engineering and the exciting careers available – to girls and boys – in this exciting industry!

We have produced this booklet to introduce children to RSK’s world of engineering and some of the work that we do. The pack includes a range of educational activities through which your children will find out about the different types of engineers we have, from working on wind turbines to building dams. We have also given them a few tasks to show them how what you learn at school works in the world around us.

We have released this pack on International Women in Engineering Day (#INWED20) because diversity in engineering is very important! Because of the different range of skills required by different types of engineers, and as problem solving is at the forefront of engineering, the more different types of people and ways of thinking we have on our team, the better. As a business, RSK prides itself on innovative thinking and we can only be innovative by thinking in different ways – and a diverse workforce helps us to achieve this. The theme for #INWED 2020 is #ShapeTheWorld. This pack celebrates the role that engineering can play in helping to #ShapeTheWorld.
