Central Alliance (an RSK company) is pleased to welcome a stunning new addition to its fleet – a state-of the-art Comacchio GEO 300 rig.
The new rig forms part of the company’s on-going programme of investment and will provide a much-needed boost in capacity and capability to meet growing demand for its ground investigation services.
The Comacchio GEO 300 is not just any rig; it’s an advanced hydraulic drilling rig, installed on variable (telescopic) rubber crawler track base. The fundamental aspect of its design and construction is the robustness and strength of its components that guarantees stability, reliability, durability and allows for high performance and continued operation under the most punishing conditions. Its flexible design allows the use of a comprehensive range of on-board accessories, such as an NG500 mono mud pump (130LPM at 12 Bar), FX25 percussive hammer, wire-line winch and UDOR air mist pump and pressure washer lance. It can adapt to all rotary drilling application and rotary percussion drilling techniques (down the hole hammers, coring, dynamic sampling, undisturbed sampling and wire-line systems) in all geological formations.
Although it weighs 3.7 tonnes, the GEO 300 is a small footprint unit, ideally suited for coring projects inside buildings, on railways and/or highways projects or in areas of restricted space, heli-portable solution to heavy-duty machines. Its multi-purpose rig incorporates advanced safety features and complies with the strictest safety regulations adopted in the industry.
“The new rig will provide a tremendous boost in capacity, as well as allowing us greater on-site flexibility as a benefit of the rig’s versatility and customisation options,” offered Tom Burnett, Central Alliance operations manager.
