The Environmental Business Journal (EBJ) has named RSK one of its Business Achievement: Mergers & Acquisitions award winners for 2019. The annual awards recognise outstanding business performance. Winners will be celebrated at the 18th Environmental Industry Summit in San Diego, USA, on 19 March.
The EBJ is a business research publication that provides high-value strategic business intelligence to the environmental industry. RSK’s award recognises its robust acquisition strategy that has seen it expand rapidly in recent years. A summary on the EBJ website explains: “[RSK completed] the acquisition of multiple companies in 2018 and 2019. Company revenue grew by 42% to £209 million during the year ending in March 2019, operating profit grew three-fold to £1.7 million, and adjusted operating profit (EBITDA) grew 73% to £20.1 million”.
As well as financial growth, the article also highlights notable acquisitions made during this period, including Pellings, Dr Tillmanns, RSK Raw, Ecologia, Silcock Leedham, Biocensus and Consents Solutions, all of which strengthened the group’s services in 2019. And with RSK’s expansion plans not stopping any time soon, the publication also highlights RSK’s ambitious future growth plans up to 2025.
“In five years, RSK’s senior management hopes to employ 10,000 people with annual sales of £1 billion and operating profit of £100 million. To accomplish this, RSK plans to make 12 to 15 acquisitions per year using a £350 million debt package provided by its private equity backers, Ares Capital Management.”
The mergers and acquisitions award highlights companies employing ambitious and ground-breaking acquisitions strategies. It comes as the second acknowledgement in recent weeks, following RSK’s ranking as the third-most acquisitive company in the UK by Corporate Financier.
