Building a clean energy future

Nuclear energy is not only cleaner than fossil fuels but it also provides low-carbon energy to millions of people worldwide. In the European Union, nuclear power plants generate 25% of all EU-produced electricity and there are now 100 operational reactors in the 27 EU Member States. Today, there are two reactors under construction: one in France and one in Slovakia. Several Member States, such as Bulgaria, Czechia, Finland, Romania and Poland, are planning to build new nuclear power plants, with small modular reactors (SMR) expected to play a key role as they enter the EU energy mix in the coming years. Paramount to ensuring a clean future and safeguarding our planet is the maintenance of rigid EU safety guidelines, as the numerous and adverse climate change effects become ever more prevalent.

RSK is a leading supplier to the nuclear sector. We have worked extensively on proposed nuclear new-build developments, including nuclear power plant siting and radioactive waste disposal facilities, and we provide support for nuclear sites undergoing decommissioning. We specialise in providing advice to authorities on subjects related to nuclear waste management and safety assessments of disposal facilities. Our clients include most of the nuclear waste management organisations in Europe, Japan, Korea and Canada, as well as research centres worldwide (CEA, France; KIT-INE, Germany; IFE, Norway; LANL, USA; Eurecat, Spain). Brands we have worked with include EDF Energy, KORAD, NWMO, Horizon Nuclear Power, Orano, British Energy and Magnox.
