Protecting an Iraqi ecological treasure: the wetlands jewel of Ahwar
Southern Iraq, or the Ahwar, is home to a globally and ecologically significant wetlands area, the beauty and diversity of which was recently captured by gifted photographer and RSK Iraq Senior Biodiversity Consultant Mudhafar Salim.
Through Mudhafarβs images and text, this biodiversity-rich area can be fully appreciated as he describes how, like many other such regions, it is under threat.
