Where there’s a weir, there’s a way! Navigating the pitfalls of fish passage

August 11, 2020

Event: Thursday 5 November, 12:30–13:15

With many species of fish undertaking significant migrations within river systems, fish passage issues are important considerations for fisheries managers or others who own or manage in-river structures that may act as a barrier or significant obstacle to the free movement of fish. UK regulators also frequently require that modifications to existing structures, or the construction of new in-river structures, consider fish passage for all species.

Don’t miss your chance to learn about the main issues surrounding fish passage and the processes that should be undertaken to address them from Dr Peter Walker, an experienced aquatic ecologist who has worked on hundreds of fish-passage projects.
