Treating solvent in soils: In-situ deep soil mixing

RemedX will share the lessons learnt from using deep soil mixing columns as a technique to deliver chemicals and amendments to subsurface for the remediation of soils impacted by chlorinated solvents. The presentation will focus on practical aspects of the design work, site preparation, environmental management and the key controls applied to ensure the work is successfully implemented.

Speaker: Pete Findon (Associate Director)

Pete is responsible for client development, commercial and programme management, and acts as a project director delivering remediation design, operation and closeout for petroleum, commercial and industrial clients in the UK. With more than 20 years of experience in the UK market, he has also worked extensively in Australia and New Zealand. Pete has extensive experience of in-situ and ex-situ remedial processes and applying these remedial schemes to broader project work.

Moderator: Richard Martin (Associate Director)

Richard is responsible for developing business opportunities and ensuring efficient project delivery for clients. A civil engineer turned environmental engineer with more than 20 years’ experience of construction and remediation processes, he has been involved in a wide array of public- and private-sector infrastructure and development projects. Richard focuses on delivering excellence through remedial design and implementation, and ensuring maximum material reuse to offer cost-effective design solutions with the emphasis on stabilisation or solidification, and the implementation of innovative binders.
