Briefing with Chris Taylor and Sarah Walker, National Highways
National Highways is delivering one of the biggest infrastructure programmes for a generation.
We meet Chris Taylor, Director, Complex Infrastructure, and Sarah Walker, Head of Communications and Engagement, Complex Infrastructure, at National Highways. Sarah and Chris lead the direction and communications of a multibillion-pound programme, including the A303 Stonehenge, the A14, the A428 and the third road investment strategy.
Chris and Sarah reflect on what’s needed for success and what lessons can be learned by the next generation of projects. They’ll talk about how communications and engagement can drive programmes forward.
These themes include
- leadership: working with thousands of people – within National Highways, government, consultants and contractors
- stakeholders: balancing competing demands from diverse stakeholders with complex hopes and fears
- communications: campaigns matter and deliver value; owning your own story is critical to explaining your project, building credibility with decision-makers and asking others to support you.
The event will be chaired by Martin McCrink, Managing Partner, Copper Consultancy.
