Empowering climate change champions in Scotland

Climate Change and Sustainability August 28, 2019

Climate change presents complex challenges that require extensive, thoughtful consideration and focused action. However, climate change also provides many varied opportunities for cooperation, collaboration, ambitious investment and innovation-led growth. The Scottish Government will soon publish its Programme for Government. This is a chance to consider climate-change opportunities; to deliver high-impact and ambitious targets by empowering businesses to take dynamic action to realise sustainable and inclusive growth. In doing so, Scotland would further strengthen its position as a pioneering nation of climate change champions, whose bold and bright ideas are nurtured by successful innovation, progressive action, cooperation and care. We recognise the Scottish Government’s strength of ambition and welcome the opportunity to support it through the application of our crosssectoral and multidisciplinary knowledge, skills and experience to align business initiatives with environmental objectives. We seek to empower Scotland’s climate change champions to drive innovation and profit, while promoting biodiversity, minimising water use, reducing emissions and enhancing the resilience and adaptive capabilities of commercial endeavours. Strong and sustainable growth should not come at the expense of the environment; but rather businesses should be empowered to realise their potential to deliver true sustainability. At RSK,we look forward to helping to deliver that potential by identifying climate change opportunities to develop climate change champions.
